2016年8月20日，世界儿童读物联盟（IBBY）第35届大会在新西兰奥克兰拉开举办。当地时间19点，国际安徒生奖颁奖仪式开始。国际安徒生奖评委会主席帕奇·亚当娜将国际安徒生奖的金质奖章和奖状正式授予曹文轩先生.
On August 20, 2016, the 35th International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) was held in Auckland, New Zealand. At 19:00 local time, the model ceremony of the Hans Christian Andersen Award started. Patricia Aldana, president of the award jury, officially awarded Mr. Cao Wenxuan the gold medal and certificate of merit of the Hans Christian Andersen Award.
颁奖现场，曹文轩先生发表了题为《文学：另一种造屋》的精彩演讲，赢得了数百位与会人员经久不息的掌声。
At the medal ceremony, Mr. Cao Wenxuan made an excellent speech which was titled "Literature: Another Form of Housebuilding" and got lasting applause made by hundreds of attendees.
曹文轩先生获得2016年国际安徒生奖，是中国作家首次获得这一世界儿童文学领域的至高荣誉，实现了华人在该奖项上零的突破。
Mr. Cao Wenxuan won the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2016. He was the first Chinese writer who won the highest honor in the children's literature field in the world. It was the first time for a Chinese writer to win this award.
在颁奖仪式现场，明天出版社及其他几家与曹文轩先生有密切合作关系的出版社的代表们共同见证了这一历史性的时刻。近年来，明天出版社精心策划并出版了《曹文轩作品》《枫林渡》《曹文轩说故事》《曹文轩纯美绘本》等二十多种图书，取得了良好的社会效益和经济效益。曹文轩先生在大会现场特意为明天出版社题字-----“明天的童书，童书的明天”，表达了对明天出版社深切的祝愿与期许。
At the medal ceremony, representatives of Tomorrow Publishing House and other publishing houses cooperating closely with Mr. Cao Wenxuan jointly witnessed this historic moment. In recent years, Tomorrow Publishing House elaborately planned and published over 20 books such as Works of Cao Wenxuan Fenglin Ferry, Cao Wenxuan’s Storytelling and Cao Wenxuan’s Pure and Beautiful Picture Books which have achieved good social benefits and economic benefits. At the medal ceremony, Mr. Cao Wenxuan inscribed "The children's books published by Tomorrow are the tomorrow of children's books" to Tomorrow Publishing House and extended his profound wish and expectation to Tomorrow Publishing House.
